O delavnici

Pranajama – zavestno raziskovanje diha – je ena osrednjih praks klasične joge. V tradiciji T. Krishnamacharye in T. K. V. Desikacharja je dih temelj celotnega procesa joge: iz njega izhajajo gibanje, zavedanje, meditacija in notranja preobrazba.

Na tej dvodnevni delavnici bo Domagoj Orlić, dolgoletni učenec Marka Whitwella, udeležence vodil skozi poglobljeno in praktično raziskovanje pranajame v okviru celovite prakse joge.

Delavnica združuje teorijo, prikaz in celovite vodene prakse, ki udeležencem omogočajo neposredno izkušnjo pranajame na način, kot je tradicionalno vključena v prakso asan in meditacije.

Udeleženci bodo raziskovali, kako dih:

  • podpira telesno vitalnost in ravnovesje živčnega sistema

  • poglablja zavedanje in meditacijo

  • povezuje gibanje, dih in um v eno integrirano prakso

  • ga je mogoče varno in učinkovito poučevati drugim

Kaj boste spoznali

Na delavnici bomo raziskovali:

  • vlogo pranajame v klasičnih tradicijah joge

  • osnovna načela jogijskega dihanja in dehalnih procesov v telesu

  • temeljne prakse pranjame, kot sta ujjayi in nadi shodhana

  • napredne tehnike pranajame

  • odnos med pranajamo, bandhami in mantro

  • kako pranajama podpira meditacijo, zdravje in vitalnost

  • kako pranajamo postopno in varno poučevati učence

Vsak dan vključuje dve celoviti praksi joge (dopoldne in popoldne), kjer se pranajama izkusi v celotni strukturi joge: asana – pranajama – meditacija.

Delavnica je poglobljeno raziskovanje pranajame z različnih vidikov, vključno z zgodovino in razvojem pranajame v različnih jogijskih tradicijah starodavne in sodobne Indije. Posebej koristna bo za učitelje joge, saj se osredotoča na prakso in poučevanje napredne pranajame z namenom poglobiti in obogatiti lastno prakso ter poučevanje.

Najpomembnejše sporočilo delavnice je, da je pranajama resnično smiselna, varna in učinkovita le, kadar jo izvajamo v okviru celotne prakse joge – z ustreznimi asanami pred njo in primerno meditacijo po njej.

1. dan – Razumevanje in praksa napredne pranajame

Sobota, 26. september | 10:00–18:00

Poudarek prvega dne je na neposredni izkušnji pranajame v praksi.

Teme vključujejo:

  • temelje pranajame

  • anatomijo in fiziologijo dihanja

  • pranajamo v klasičnih jogijskih besedilih

  • temeljne in napredne pranajamske tehnike:
    nadi shodhana, ujjayi pranajama, surya-bhedana / candra-bhedana, anuloma-ujjayi, viloma-ujjayi, pratiloma-ujjayi

  • druge napredne pranajame, kot so sitali / sitkari, bhramari, murccha, kundalini pranajama in druge

  • temeljne krije: nadi-suddhi, kapalabhati-karman in bhastrika pranajama

  • vloga bandh in mantre

V prvi praksi pred kosilom bo poudarek na izkušnji temeljnih pranajam v njihovem pravilnem kontekstu znotraj ene celovite prakse joge, prilagojene udeležencem in situaciji poučevanja.

V drugi praksi po kosilu bomo izvajali nekaj pomembnih naprednih pranajam, ponovno znotraj celovite prakse joge, ki vključuje asane, pranajamo, meditacijo in druge elemente.

2. dan – Poučevanje napredne pranajame

Nedelja, 27. september | 10:00–17:00

Drugi dan je posvečen temu, kako pranajamo učinkovito in odgovorno poučevati.

Teme vključujejo:

  • predstavljanje teorije pranajame učencem

  • umeščanje pranajame v celoten kontekst prakse joge

  • poučevanje zavedanja diha v asanah

  • prilagajanje pranajame individualnim potrebam

  • postopno vodenje začetnikov in naprednih praktikantov

  • uporaba pranajame za sprostitev, terapijo in meditacijo

V prvi praksi pred kosilom bomo izvajali zelo tradicionalno prakso hatha joge, ki vključuje veliko naprednih pranajam, da poglobimo njihovo razumevanje in namen.

V drugi praksi po kosilu bo poudarek na uporabi pranajame za globoko sprostitev in ustrezno pripravo na meditacijo.

O učiteljih

Domagoj Orlić

Praktik joge, raziskovalec in učitelj, ki živi v Reki na Hrvaškem. Do leta 2000 je jogo študiral samostojno, nato pa je postal dolgoletni učenec Marka Whitwella, priznanega mojstra joge z Nove Zelandije.

Je avtor šestih knjig o jogi v hrvaškem jeziku, kmalu pa bo izšla tudi njegova prva knjiga v angleščini z naslovom 108 Aphorisms from the Heart of Yoga. Poleg izobraževanja v tradiciji Krishnamacharya–Desikachar je leta 2013 prejel tudi iniciacijo v Sri Vidya Sakta Tantri od pokojnega Sri Amritananda Natha Sarasvatija, guruja iz Devipurama v Indiji.

Domagoj poučuje celoten spekter tradicionalnih praks joge – od joga terapije do joga tantre. Pri poučevanju se opira na starodaven, preizkušen in zelo individualen ter oseben način prenosa znanja, ki temelji na iskrenosti in zaupanju med učiteljem in učencem.

Jogo razume predvsem kot način uživanja v življenju in poglabljanja intimnosti s samim seboj, svetom in celoto obstoja. Njegovo poučevanje poudarja čustveno ravnovesje, duhovno neodvisnost ter opolnomočenje ljudi za ljubezen in svobodo.

Skupaj z ženo Adiso Hajra vodi delavnice, seminarje, oddihe (retreate) in izobraževanja za učitelje v svoji domovini in v tujini.

Je tudi dolgoletni praktik sistema borilnih veščin Shizen Ryu Goshin Jutsu, ki ga je ustanovil njegov učitelj veliki mojster Miran Škerl, dr., 10. dan, hanshi, shodai soke.

Adisa Hajra

Praktikantka in učiteljica joge iz Reke na Hrvaškem. Jogo prakticira že več kot devetnajst let, poučuje pa jo zadnjih deset let.

Nenehno študira jogo pri Domagoju Orliću in Marku Whitwellu. V svojem poučevanju se osredotoča na razvoj osebne prakse za vsakega posameznika, s ciljem spodbujati ustvarjalno učenje, psihosomatsko ravnovesje in osebno preobrazbo.

About the workshop

Pranayama – the conscious exploration of breath – is one of the central practices of classical yoga. In the tradition of T. Krishnamacharya and T.K.V. Desikachar, breath is the foundation of the entire yoga process: movement, awareness, meditation and inner transformation all arise from it.

In this two-day workshop, Domagoj Orlić, a long-time student of Mark Whitwell, will guide participants through a deep and practical exploration of pranayama within the context of the whole of yoga practice.

The workshop combines theory, demonstration and full practice sessions, allowing participants to experience pranayama directly in the way it is traditionally integrated with asana and meditation.

Participants will explore how the breath:

  • supports physical vitality and nervous system balance

  • deepens awareness and meditation

  • connects movement, breath and mind into one integrated practice

  • can be safely and effectively taught to others

What you will learn

During the workshop we will explore:

• the role of pranayama in classical yoga traditions
• basic principles of yogic breathing and human respiration
• fundamental pranayama practices such as ujjayi and nadi shodhana
• advanced pranayama techniques
• the relationship between pranayama, bandhas and mantra
• how pranayama supports meditation, healing and vitality
• how to gradually and safely teach pranayama to students

Each day includes two complete yoga practices (morning and afternoon) where pranayama is experienced within the full structure of yoga: asana – pranayama – meditation. These workshops are an in-depth exploration of pranayama from all possible angels, including the history and development of pranayama in verious yogic traditions in ancient and modern India. They will especially be useful for teachers of yoga because the focus will be on practicing and teaching advanced pranayama with the idea of improving and enriching one’s practice and teaching of pranayama. The most important point is that pranayama is truly meaningful, really safe and fully effective only when practiced within the whole of yoga, that is with adequate asana preceding it and appropriate meditation following it.

Day 1 – Understanding and Practicing Advanced Pranayama

Saturday, 26 September | 10:00–18:00

Focus on experiencing pranayama in practice.

Topics include:

  • the foundations of pranayama

  • anatomy and physiology of breathing

  • pranayama in classical yoga texts

  • fundamental and advanced pranayama techniques: nadi-sodhana and ujjayi-pranayama, surya-bhedana/candra-bhedana and anuloma-ujjayi, viloma-ujjayi and pratiloma-ujjayi and other advanced pranayamas like sitali/sitkari, bhramari and murccha, kundalini-pranayama and some others.

  • the fundamental kriyas: nadi-suddhi, kapalabhati-karman and bhastrika-pranayama

  • the role of bandhas and mantra

In the first practice before lunch the focus will be on providing the experience of the fundamental pranayamas in
their proper context within one whole practice of yoga adapted to the participants and the teaching situation; in
the second practice after lunch the focus will be on doing some important advanced pranayamas, again within a
complete yoga practice, icluding asana, pranayama, meditation and more.

Day 2 – Teaching Advanced Pranayama

Sunday, 27 September | 10:00–17:00

The second day focuses on how to teach pranayama effectively and responsibly.

Topics include:

  • presenting pranayama theory to students

  • placing pranayama within the context of the whole yoga practice

  • teaching breath awareness in asana

  • adapting pranayama to individual needs

  • guiding beginners and advanced students step-by-step

  • using pranayama for relaxation, therapy and meditation

In the first practice before lunch the focus will be on doing a very traditional hatha yoga practice with a lot of
advanced pranayamas in it to deepen their undestanding and purpose; in the second practice after lunch the focus
will be on using pranayama for deep relaxation and adequate preparation for meditation.

About the teachers:

Domagoj Orlić
Yoga practitioner, scholar and teacher living in Rijeka, Croatia. He had been self-taught in Yoga until the year 2000, when he became a life-long student of  Mark Whitwell, the renowned Yoga master from New Zealand.
He is the author of six books on Yoga published in his native Croatian language and will soon publish his first book written in English entitled 108 Aphorisms from the Heart of Yoga. Besides being trained in the Krishnamacharya-Desikachar tradition of Yoga, he also received initiation into Sri Vidya Sakta Tantra in 2013 from the late Sri Amritananda Natha Sarasvati, Guruji of Devipuram, India.
Domagoj teaches the full spectrum of traditional Yoga practices in all its applications, from Yoga Therapy to Yoga Tantra, mostly
relying on the ancient and time-tested, individual and personalized, intimate and personal mode of teaching based on sincerity and trust between teacher and student. He understands Yoga primarily as a way of enjoying Life and the deepening of intimacy with oneself, the world and the Whole of Existence, focusing on emotional healing and spiritual independence, and so empowering others for love and freedom. Together with his wife Adisa Hajra, he conducts workshops, seminars, retreats and teacher trainings in his native country and abroad.

He is also a life-long practitioner of the martial arts system Shizen Ryu Goshin Jutsu founded by his teacher Grand Master Miran Škerl, Ph.D., 10th Dan, hanshi, shodai soke.

Adisa Hajra
Yoga practitioner and teacher living in Rijeka, Croatia. She has been practicing Yoga for more than nineteen years and teaching it for the last ten years. She is continuously studying Yoga with Domagoj Orlić and Mark Whitwell, and in her teaching she is focusing on developing a personal practice for her students aiming at creative learning, psychosomatic healing and personal transformation. Together with her husband Domagoj Orlić, she conducts workshops, seminars, retreats and teacher trainings in her native country and abroad.
